Polygon has introduced the launchpad-style Agglayer Breakout Program. The initiative is designed to identify, support, and scale promising blockchain ventures on Agglayer and Polygon PoS.
The goal is to bring real value to POL stakers through strategic airdrops. As these projects mature and reach independence, stakers of POL will be directly rewarded with airdrops ranging from 5% to 15% of the native token supplies of successful projects.

What is Agglayer Breakout Program?
Polygon Foundation’s Agglayer Breakout Program operates through a structured four-step model. It begins by selecting projects with high potential that align with Agglayer’s ecosystem vision. These projects are then nurtured through incubation, receiving financial backing and development resources straight from the foundation.
As projects advance, they enter the independence phase. At this stage, they become fully autonomous, forging their own identity while remaining connected to Polygon’s larger vision. The process helps projects gain momentum without facing the typical challenges of starting from scratch in a competitive market. Independence, however, doesn’t mean disconnection.
Graduated projects continue to integrate with Agglayer and benefit from its user base and network effects. Once projects graduate, value begins flowing back to the core supporters – POL stakers. This is achieved through strategic token distributions from the projects, directly linking success to the community that supported them from the start.
Token Airdrops Between 5% to 15% for POL Stakers
The Agglayer Breakout Program introduces a significant incentive mechanism for POL stakers. As projects mature and achieve full independence, they commit a portion of their native token supplies – ranging between 5% and 15% – to be distributed among those staking POL. These airdrops highlight the mutual support between new initiatives and the POL community.
Privado ID, previously known as Polygon ID, has already graduated from the program and exemplifies this model in practice. The identity-focused project is expected to airdrop around 5% of its token supply to POL stakers. Privado ID has also gained recognition through participation in the EU Blockchain Sandbox, where it is evaluating its privacy-first infrastructure with prominent institutions like Deutsche Bank and HSBC.
Another standout, Miden, is in the final stages before graduation. It is poised to distribute roughly 10% of its token supply to POL stakers. Miden is led by Bobbin Threadbare, a former Facebook blockchain engineer, and is positioned as a ZK-powered chain targeting performance benchmarks set by the likes of Solana and Aptos.
Incubation Strategy Powers Agglayer’s Expanding Network
Behind these successful rollouts lies a well-defined incubation strategy. Polygon Foundation identifies projects that are not only technologically innovative but also strategically aligned with Agglayer’s broader network goals. The foundation offers funding, engineering resources, and mentorship to ensure these teams can scale effectively within the ecosystem. Polygon founder, Sandeep Nailwal, said:
With the Agglayer Breakout Program, we’re setting the stage for massive ecosystem expansion – and that includes opportunities for POL, with the potential for huge airdrops and rewards flowing back to the community.
The incubation phase is more than just a support structure – it serves as a filter for quality. Projects are evaluated on their potential to contribute to Agglayer’s network effects, meaning each new chain must add value in terms of assets, interoperability, and utility. This targeted approach ensures that only those with real-world applications and traction move forward in the program.
What Does This Mean for Polygon’s Future?
Polygon’s Agglayer Breakout Program signals a promising shift in how blockchain ecosystems can scale while rewarding their communities. By incubating high-potential projects and offering direct airdrops of 5% to 15% to POL stakers, the model creates a tangible value loop. This aligns network growth with community participation and long-term incentive alignment.
As more projects like Privado ID and Miden graduate, the utility and appeal of staking POL will likely increase. These successful launches don’t just expand Agglayer’s ecosystem – they strengthen its foundation. With more diverse chains integrating and contributing back, Polygon is building a self-sustaining, value-generating ecosystem.
