Could Ripple (XRP) Reach $1000? Let’s Get Real

XRP coin going to the moon, as claimed in some articles

Lately, there’s been a lot of buzz around XRP, with wild price predictions making the rounds. Some claim that XRP could hit $1000 if an ETF gets approved. But let’s take a step back. While an ETF would certainly boost XRP’s profile, suggesting it could hit such an astronomical value is, quite frankly, absurd. For context, if XRP reached $1000, its market cap would be more than the economies of Japan, Germany, and France combined. That’s just not going to happen.

So what could we actually expect? Let’s start with XRP’s all-time high (ATH) of $3.84, reached back in January 2018. Right now, XRP is over 85% down from that peak. Even getting back to its ATH would be a big achievement. Plus, there are about 20% more XRP coins in circulation today than back then, making the climb even steeper.

A more realistic way to think about XRP’s future price is by comparing it to other, bigger major cryptos. For example, if XRP reached the same market cap as Solana, its price would be around $1.21. That’s possible, but still requires the price to more than double from where it stands now. To match BNB’s market cap, XRP would need to hit $1.46. Again, challenging but within the realm of possibility.

Now, if XRP aimed for Ethereum’s current market cap, it would need to reach a price of about $5.22. That’s a 10x increase and would require some serious market momentum. Could it happen? Maybe, if crypto adoption continues to rise, but it’s far from a guarantee. Even with major positive developments, like an SEC victory or an ETF approval, hitting that level would still be quite a stretch.

And what if XRP went all out and matched Bitcoin’s market cap? In that case, we’d be looking at an XRP price of around $21.9. It’s a massive leap, and frankly, it would take a miracle for XRP to reach that point anytime soon. Sure, anything’s possible in the long-term, but for now, such targets are more dream than reality.

In the end, while XRP has a promising future, we have to be realistic about its potential. All these predictions of XRP reaching $1000 or some other sky-high numbers are nothing but fantasies. Even in the best-case scenario, with XRP overtaking Bitcoin, it would still only be worth around $22, and even that is a long shot. So let’s keep our feet on the ground and not get swept up by baseless speculation.
