But behind these presentations, there are several risks that presale teams rarely mention. Some of these risks aren’t obvious until the project is already live, and by then, it’s usually too late for investors to react.

No Customer Support and No Accountability
Presale sites often look professional, but that doesn’t mean support exists once something goes wrong. Many teams operate anonymously or through offshore companies, which makes it difficult or impossible to contact them after launch.
If your tokens don’t arrive on time, if the claiming page breaks, or if you’re unable to sell during the first minutes of trading, there is no meaningful way to get help. Most presale terms clearly state that all transactions are final, and the team holds no responsibility for losses.

Unlocks and Supply Surprises
Presale investors often assume the token supply at launch will be stable. In reality, teams can update vesting schedules, change unlock dates, or release new tokens without warning. These changes quickly increase the circulating supply, putting selling pressure on the price.
Even if the presale states that tokens unlock gradually, the team usually has its own allocation available from day one. When the price spikes briefly at listing, early insiders can sell large amounts before regular investors even get access to their coins.

The Marketing Illusion
Presale websites highlight media mentions, influencer support, and positive community comments. But these signals are easy to generate through sponsored content and controlled social channels. They might look convincing, but they don’t reflect real adoption or market demand.
Once the marketing push stops, interest usually fades. Without a real product, the token struggles to hold value. Price crashes right after launch, the team disappears, and there is no clear path to recover the funds.
